Today was awesome! Our 1st Fab Lab After School Pilot Program @ the LIC YMCA was so inspiring. A group of Smart, Beautiful and Fun young ladies of color came together, after meeting yesterday, at Mama Gianna’s Manducatis Rustica a restaurant @ 46-33 Vernon Blvd, LIC (yummy food & friendly people), we had a ‘fab’ time! We shared the wonderful new Apple iPads, keyboards, pens and headphones by Beats with the girls who cracked them open and started creating immediately. Drawing images of ‘super women, coming up with creative titles for their 8 week project; digital video self portraits incorporating, science, math, art, technology and robotics. We were blown away by their self confidence, support for each other and critical thinking. I’m still smiling and glowing inside, thank you ladies!??????????????
